This is the letter written by Joanne Boenig to the contact person at the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) requesting a public hearing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Margaret Quigley,
I am requesting a public hearing for the sludge application on sit LO 06 which is owned by Mr Patrick Hanley known as Panimint Farms. I have serious health issues that my physician has completed your DEQ FORM and in addition has contacted Dr. Denise Bonds, health dept director, with an extended setback request which all need to be addressed.
The fact that Mr Hanley has put out his biosolids sign today before the requesting period is completed (Nov 23) is quite distressing. Since letters of setback requests are still coming into DEQ for medical evaluation these permits are not in accordance to state regulations to proceed. Louisa county has a Sign regulations of 3'x4' and 3" lettering from which these signs are only 2'x2.5' with 2" letters at the largest lettering.
There is also a 30 day from which this biosolids sign is to be displayed. There is a similar sign on Mansfield Rd, however, this location also has flag markers and 2 truck signs. This means they will be applying biosolids within a few days. This is still not in accordance with the state and county regulations. It's still in the requesting period and not a 30 day sign viewing period.
We expect DEQ WILL BE FOLLOWING ALL REGULATION state and county. My contact information is Joanne Boenig, 4001 Bibb Store Rd, Louisa VA 23093; 540-967-3509.
Please contact me by phone to discuss this matter.
Cordially,
Joanne Boenig
